He joined NY German-Hungarians in 1966, before joining the New York Cosmos in 1972.

He represented the US national soccer team from 1972-75, making 15 appearances.

Well-known for playing Baumann, the Germany national team captain in the 1981 film, Escape to Victory. His penalty was saved by Sylvester Stallone. (This game was filmed at MTK Budapest’s stadium). Did the ref ever blow his whistle for full-time?
